Special Thanks for a Successful Season
It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year again, where we say goodbye to our summer neighbors and wish them well till the spring, safe travels. We are so grateful for all of the support and feedback we received this year and CIHS will be busy this winter while you are gone, with programs for island residents and planning for our next season.
I want to take a moment to thank each of you for welcoming me into the CIHS community this season. I have truly enjoyed getting to know some of you over the summer and am looking forward to matching more names to faces and working on more exciting programs together.
We are beginning to plan more fun events and projects right now! See below for a list of ways you can become involved and join our fun!
Chebeague Island Cookbook Project: Dig out your favorite recipes related to Chebeague! New, old, yours, your grandparents or cousin’s. We are looking for appetizers, main dishes, desserts, holiday, breads and drink recipes. Please include 25 words or less note, explaining significance to you or Chebeague. Send it to us in any form, call, text email Gail at (617) 803-2144, [email protected]
Museum Docent: We are looking forward to the second year of the new permanent exhibit, “Creating a Sense of Place: The Evolution of the Chebeague Community”. We are looking for volunteers to work as Docents when our exhibit opens in the Spring. If you are interested in sharing your knowledge about Chebeague or learning more about the history, this is for you!
Museum Gift Shop: Want to get to know your neighbors? Come volunteer in our shop!
Have other talents that are being underutilized in your daily life? Boy, do we have a (volunteer) job for you!
Email me at [email protected] with your special talents or what fun CIHS hats you might want to try on for size next season!
Best wishes, Beth Weiss, Administrative Coordinator, CIHS
